[Tips for Visiting Tokyo Dome]
1. Access to Tokyo Dome
You can access to Tokyo Dome from several stations.
Closest:
1. Suidobashi Station, Japan Railways (JR) Chuo Line
2. Korakuen Station, Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line and Nanboku Line
3. Suidobashi Station, Metropolitan Subway Mita Line
4. Kasuga Station, Metropolitan Subway Mita Line
Within 10 to 15 minutes' walk
1. Iidabashi Station, Japan Railways (JR) Chuo Line
2. Jinbocho Station, Metropolitan Subway Mita Line
3. Iidabashi Station, Tokyo Metro Tozai Line, Nanboku Line and Yurakucho Line
4. Ochanomizu Station, Japan Railways (JR) Chuo Line
(1) JR Chuo Line has direct access to Akihabara, Ochanomizu and Shinjuku. If you come to Suidobashi from Tokyo Station, you have to change trains at Ochanomizu.
(2) Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line has direct access to Ikebukuro, Ginza and Shinjuku (for Shinjuku, takes longer than other lines)
(3) Tokyo Metro Nanboku Line has direct access to Komagome and Meguro
(4) Tokyo Metro Tozai Line connects to Nakano, Takadanobaba and Otemachi
(5) Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line has direct access to Yurakucho, Idabashi and Ikebukuro
(6) Metropolitan Subway Mita Line connects to Sugamo, Otemachi, and Mita (Tamachi)
2. Some things you'd better know
1. If you don't have any excursion ticket, SUICA, or PASMO, buy a return ticket before the show. Note that most of 55,000 people will leave the dome soon after the show.
2. The RED NIGHT show is on a Japanese holiday, so many of the restaurants and bars nearby may be closed, except ones on adjacent to the site of Korakuen amusement park. If you want to have a decent food before or after the show, you may go to Ikebukuro, Shinjuku, Tokyo, Shibuya and other subcenters of Tokyo where many restaurants and bars are open on holidays.
3. THE BLACK NIGHT show is on a weekday, so you can go anywhere to have a dinner. If you want to make it economical, you'd better go to Ochanomizu, Suidobashi (on the opposite side of Tokyo Dome) and Jinbocho (you can walk) because they are student towns. You may walk along the Route 17 and find many good restaurants.
4. The Bunkyo Civic Center is directly connected to Kasuga and Korakuen Stations. It has an observation floor on the 25th floor open from 9:00 to 20:30 free of charge. You can have a great view of Tokyo for three directions including Skytree and Shinjuku Subcenter. You cannot see the southern view because there is a restaurant.
